Why did you get the PF rotors instead of the ones from AP?Andy said:I've got PF rotors & Pagid RS29s in my APs & I'm enjoying them so far, have a lil bit of squeal but I think that's more a sticky calliper than the pads, will be resealed soon.
If you are not doing any trackdays and only want a pad upgrade, then Pagid RS421 (black) is a good choice. When you are at it; get you lines changed into steel ones and chance the brake oil (I love; the not so aggressive ATE super blue racing). I used to have Pagid blue on my AP brakes, they are really noisy (squealling) and I'm now running RS-14 (also black). Pagid RS29 (yellow) seem to make a lot of rattling noise in the oem calipers (read this on the forum here). A lot of people seem to like RS29, they last really long (endurance pad). I have tried them on track car (and they worked fine), but never used them on the street. Maybe Ferodo DS-2500 0r EBC is an option to look at for street driving? DS-2500 and most EBC brake pads are not great on track and I don't know about the noise.DONDP said:If you have no more track days in mind then pretty much any main manufacturer of pads would be OK for normal road use. However, if you wanted a fast road pad for more spirited driving I would recommend the Pagid RS421 (black) or even more aggressive the Pagid RS42 (blue) but the latter might squeal on the odd occasion.
The best pads I ever used in the OEM callipers was Carbone Lorraines RC5+ but they have no anti rattle clips so rattle like saucepans lids on the road and still quite a dusty pad - stopping power is ferocious though. Definitely a track only pad in my opinion.
I am currently running the Pagid Yellows RS 29 in an AP setup (as I do a fair amount of track days) they still work well on the road but they are really really dirty dusty little buggers.
I haven't used them myself but quite a few chaps on the M3 cutters forum recommend the Performance Friction pads and rotors. Might be worth some investigation.
Sorry just seen this.. heard good things about them & liked the look, they fit the AP bells & apparently they last even longer too.Franzino said:Why did you get the PF rotors instead of the ones from AP?Andy said:I've got PF rotors & Pagid RS29s in my APs & I'm enjoying them so far, have a lil bit of squeal but I think that's more a sticky calliper than the pads, will be resealed soon.
