Brake pads recommendation and part numbers

Hi I know there are a few other posts about this but things change and I’m having difficulty being sure the pads will fit.

I currently have OEM front pads that need changing, I’m mostly on road but do a few trackdays. I see that there are a few recommended after market pads that are marked as not for road use. I know from my days racing caterhams race pads work on the road but don't want to run the risk of invalidating insurance etc.

So can you let me know what pads you run and if possible it would be good to know part number

Thanks

I've used a set of Carbotech XP8, they work fantastic on track and good cold on road too. They sqeel a little in town but you can never have everything, it seems. :)

My preference is Pagid RSL-29...but there will be other equally-suitable options that I've not tried and will leave others to detail/recommend.

In the Pagid RS catalogue the pad/shape number is 1295 front and 2685 rear.

But I usually cross-reference the BMW OE numbers from RealOEM to ensure they're correct:
  • Front = 34112282995
  • Rear = 34216761248

The Porterfield R4-S are a good street pad with excellent grip and good fade resistance. If you ever track the car, the harder pads may be better. See this to pick:

Check out pbs pro track pads. I’ve fitted a set to my upgraded front calipers and probably going to fit a set to the rears also.

Can’t fault them so far.
