I am sure this has been covered before but I am looking to change my brake pads and would like some with (if possible) a low dust spec. EBC red stuff seems to promise what I am after. anyone tried them ? do they live up to there promise ? any alternatives . any Info gratefully received.

Some rate EBC but it's worth searching for info about their pads breaking up or becoming detached from the backing plate so I've always avoided them. Textar high ceramic/low dust e-pads cost more than standard but I've found them to offer the same feel as BMW standard pads but with less dust. More importantly because they contain little iron the dust does not burn and stick to the wheel so is easy to wash off.
Textar are a BMW supplier.

Ive switched from EBC reds to pagid pads, had to do a brake refresh before i did my eurotip and the amount of dust I now have is shocking. Never had any trouble with my red stuff so ill most probably switch back to them

Reds are fine for road use and the dust isn't bad at all , I've used them a few times , yellows for track though .

+1 for red stuff , been on my fronts over a year, no issues. Got brembo on rears, again no issues but only 3 months for them.

Thanks guys ,yes I do get a fair amount of dust from my oem discs, And as I am considering doing an upgrade with Tarox discs I am looking at the options for pads. Redstuff seems to meet the general approval but I will check further and have a look at Textar , thanks for info so far.
