Brake pads and rotors

'bout brakes.
I received some stuff recently, just have to get it on the car : new fluid (sticking with RBF600), new pads (EBC RedStuff front and rear) and new discs (300 mm EBC Ultimax Slotted Rotors, front only). And the fabulous brake disc carriers form C10Jeepers 3.0i !

bimmer pads last a long time, chances are you need rotors too. Plus, putting new pads on old rotors can be a waste. Your old rotors will likely need to be turned to do this.
I've owned 10 bimmers and over the years tried some different pads/rotors. I've always found that for street driving the best combo is oem/oem. Sure they can be dusty, but they work great and don't squeak. Theres a reason BMW engineers spent many hours testing and deciding what should go on your BMW. Many times, performance combos squeak all the time, very annoying (unless you live at the track)! And if you buy cheap rotors, chances are they will warp. Unless your getting some quality stuff that many people can vouch for as to being high quality, go oem, they're not that expensive!

2nd bimmer for me and i agree, BMW did a lot of research and I'm sure they have chosen the best street pad/rotor combo and if you are driving the car 95% street and 5% track like most who visit the track, sticking to OEM/OEM would be best if you were to choose 1 rotor/pad combo. But ideally, you should buy a 2nd set of rotors/pads with a higher temp range. You'll notice a really big diff on the track!!! I'm sure there are many really good track pads, but I recommend Endless if price isn't an issue and if they make it for Z4s.

Roughly what should I get for the max temp range on pads? I know thats a big question with a million diff answers depending on my driving style and the track itself... I didn't get brake fade till well into the run session (around 25 minutes) doing real fast and hard laps (well for me), so I'm thinking I might be good with the axxis ULT's. But I'm worried about going to a different track where I may have more speed on the straights.
