Brake pad warning light - safe to drive for how long?

Hi folks -

The ol' brake pad warning light came on last night - not unexpected, I knew they were getting low.

I don't have much time to get the the garage for a while so was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it is safe to drive on them for ... I know it's not exact, but do I have a couple of hundred miles left before danger, or should I get down to the garage right away!

IIRC 500 miles, depens how hard you brake though.

Thanks for that. Did 100, then had them changed. Definitely can feel the difference!
