Hi,

I had an advisory on my brake lines at last MOT and would like to replace them now. Can I please get some recommendations of a decent set that won't cost the earth?

Been looking at some of the braided sets around £80 on ebay and they seem to get good write-ups. Any good? Something along these lines (boom boom!)...

2004 2.2.

Thanks in advance!

Are you also going to replace the non flexi brake pipe ?
If you are (at 13 years old you probably should) use Kunifer pipe.

Did the advisory say it was the flexible lines that were corroded, or the front-to-back solid pipes?

If the former, then there are a few suppliers (or you can get them made up). For the latter you'll have to either get them made up specially, or order the pipes from BMW for about £20/£30 each.

For the braided some people on here have used 'HEL'. From what I have read you can pretty much get them to make whatever you want in terms of a braided hose and connections on the end. Maybe worth giving them a call as they might have noted the z4 specs

Thanks for all the advice. I'll need to double check the MOT cert when I get home tonight to check which part it's highlighted. Sounds like it might be worth doing both sections though
