brake fluid

im not sure when the brake fluid was last changed so i want to get it done, is there anything special about the fluid in these cars?

Aaargh! No! Do not use DOT5! DOT5 is silicon-based and will screw your seals!!! It's also not suitable for ABS-equipped cars.

You need either DOT4 or DOT5.1 and they are both polyethylene glycol-based fluids, the difference between DOT4 and DOT5.1 being their boiling points which are (dry) 230C and 270C respectively.
 
so pretty much normal then. i wondered if there was something special about it all. im not sure when mine had it changed last time so going to get it done anyway.

Any ideas where best to get the 5.1 fluid from? Also any particular brands to go for / avoid?
Trying to minimise the fade on the upcoming trip to Silverstone!
