Brake Fluid light/dodgy AUX lead

Ok, so two things, when my service indicator comes up on ignition, i get the clock symbol come up, as if the brake fluid needs changing, although it says 6/10 (June next year) on the display, and it was changed just before I got the car in May this year (so June isnt two years after, but thats another matter). Any ideas why the clock is coming up?

Second, my ipod keeps going dodgy, it sometimes cuts out, then comes back on when I unlock it. Sometimes parts of the music go (vocals, or guitars). When I move the lead round it seems to come back. Although it has done it with two jack leads, so could it be my AUX lead? Or the Ipod?

Cheers guys

If you've tried 2 cables, it might be a 'short' at the rear of the Aux input, or poss the Ipod side (try the ipod headphones in the ipod to rule that out) ..

In my days as a 'muso' I would do this shorting 'trick' to remove central instruments (ie vocals or lead guitar) from a mix .. so as to jam along or sample a hi-hat pattern ! .... Can also work if you half pull your headphone plug from the headphone input.... you get the ambient sounds and backing vocals etc from the song mix .

If it's a short on the AUX lead, what do I need to do to cure it? I've listened through my headphones, and it seems ok, but the problem is intermittent so not 100%. I think it is something to do with the AUX. Although it is less bad with the new lead on, it was terrible with the old lead, but still does do it now. Odd.
