Brake fluid interval reset question.

So I had my full service and brake fluid change this week. 8/24.
My service interval for the brake fluid was reset but now shows 3/24 but I understand it should now show 8/26. Time due in 2 years.
Does my car have a date stored somewhere and thinks we are in March 2022?
My mech tried to reset again but it won’t move.
Any ideas anyone?

I’ve had this several times

I assumed that because I was behind the schedule updating the brake interval that it would only allow one ‘update’ in a time period by using the standard procedure (using the buttons on the dash) and that a more detailed update date would/could be done by inpa/ista

But not checked that
