Brake fluid flush. Fluid type/amount?

Mostly Holland. Sometimes UK.
Will be doing some jobs on the zed at the weekend including new discs and pads on the back and a brake fluid flush with a Gunson flusher.

Drain > flush > replace > bleed.

Whats the BMW fluid spec and does it have to be LV?
Use the same fluid to flush as well as replace?
Amount I'll need for flushing and replacing?

Any particular brand/type advisable for the fluid?
I've been using Textar pads and discs for years. Nay reason not to use their fluid too?

This is what I used, after a member laid me on it....good value as well, from ECPs.

Same as I've used and seems well regarded. Also has the added bonus of actually being blue so you can tell when you've flushed the old stuff out. I'll have to find a different colour for the next flush though. 🤔

Why drain? I would just flush through with one litre of 5.1 with the pressure bleeder. Job done.

Do not drain the fluid, more likelyhood of getting air trapped in the abs pump doing that. Pressure bleed is the best option and as long as you keep the reservoir topped up its a one man operation., no pumping pedal.

I'd syringe out the master cylinder and drop fresh in there and then use a pressure bleeder . That ATE stuff looks good although a flush with 1 litre of normal fluid would suffice.

I used a pressure bleeder on the Stag some time back, used the pressure from the spare wheel. Could not get the caps they provided to fit. Modified one which I had lying about and it worked a treat.
Could not believe how quick the whole operation took. I was adviced by a reputable mechanic that pumping the pedal too hard was not good practice, not sure if true though.
Which pressure bleeder has the right cap for the Z?
Sukhi.

+1
+2 but use the blue stuff to make it obvious when the new fluid is coming through. Although if it's not been done in a while it'll be obvious anyway.

I don't know where you guys are seeing blue brake fluid these days, ATE replaced it years ago due to it not meeting legal requirements and guidelines in multiple countries, the replacement is TYP200 which is just a typical brake fluid colour.

I got my ATE from Gsf last year, maybe the year before and I'd have sworn it was blue. But I am off work with a dental abyss and related fever so it might well have been pink with green spots! Sorry if I've misled anyone
