Brake fluid change

Hi all,
Thinking of DIY brake fluid change on my 35 (E89) , looked at eurocarparts had none in stock. Apart from going to the stealers, anyone know which type is recommended. Thanks.

Any DOT 4 would do just fine. as long as you arent on the race track

problem is bleeding the ABS modulator. dont know how you were going to do that without a scan tool to actuate the ABS pumps.

i just assumed you dont have one...(my brake fluid service light had been on for almost 2 years already now.) too lazy to do it.

DOT 4, it's on the filler cap.
1 litre bottle will do the job.
Only problem I had was the front left calliper nipple was solid?
Perhaps BMW back fill the system via this nipple?
Had to remove completely and wedge a plastic tube in.
As for the ABS, looking at the manifold where the pipes go, see no bleed there. There might be a drop in the pump that can't be changed.
All fine now 18 months.
