Brake fluid change

Yesterday I accidentally discovered that my car was due a brake fluid change last month. Pressed the wrong button to reset the trip mileage just after starting the car while the service indication was showing and got a month/year with the clock symbol.

Questions - do you reckon it could wait till next month, when I can get it done at the same time as getting my Eibachs fitted ? And how much does the average brake fluid change cost at an Indy ?

Cheers guys

As a matter of interest the braking system holds less than a litre and it takes no longer than a half hour to change it

Thanks Stuart - no issues with waiting a month then ?

You need to consider the fact that I know nothing about changing brake fluid, so it would take me ages and I'd probably do something wrong, or spend my days paranoid I had :D

I had mine done at a dealer last month for £60. It's was well over a month and I didn't have any issues with braking or notice any difference afterwards.

Wouldn't do it out of choice though. (ignorance yes, choice no ;))

Changed mine last weekend. Complete flush through. 1 litre of fluid and as I was doing it alone and fastidious about no drips, just under the hour including packing up.

Found my daughter's Ka hadn't been done for 5 years so did that too..
2 cars £20 and <2 hours work. saved a few quid.

Places like (and don't slate me for this) Kwik-fit can do it on a pressurised system in about 15 minutes. Its worth doing but a month won't make any difference.

Cheers guys

I will have chat with my local Indy for next month - work & home pressure mean it is an adventure I will embark on myself at a later date :D
