Brake Fluid Change 2 years or 3?

What the time changes for the E89. Reason I ask is my 2011 E87 states three years on the computer so wondered if BMW are now extending it.

If that is the case then surely it should apply to older cars as well.

I think that the F20 says 3 years as well...

It's was always set at 2 years in the past and it was cited that this was required for safety reasons due to the hygroscopic nature of brake fluid - I don't think that brake fluid composition has changed that much so the only reason I can see for extending the interval between changes is that showing lower running costs trumps previous good practice

IMO, it's such an inexpensive change that if the service schedule for an older car says change every 2 years then it's worth sticking to that

I have a 2011 E89 and my brake fluid change warning came on at 2 years

2 years... had it done once already and mine is due again in May, its build date of 4 years old.

Its a wonder its not every year-just so the stealers can turn us upside down even more :roll:

So does anyone know, do they just suck out the old from the reservoir and replace or do they actual bleed off the old at every caliper.
