Brake discs

Hi all. Looking for some advice. My 2007 2.5 z4 is due new front discs and pads, problem is I’m not sure what brand to go with.
The zed wont be tracked and will be used for general
Occasional use. I was looking at Mintex as they are reasonably priced. I also saw MTEC, but are these a bit of overkill given it the type of use the zed gets.?
I don’t want to pay a fortune and I know some will say don’t skimp on brakes but surely the “cheaper” brands are good enough?
All thoughts / suggestions welcome.
Thanks

I slapped Mintex pads on the front of the 3.0si when I bought it to improve the braking and it made a decent difference. OEM part-worn discs and I assume OEM discs/pads on the back. Gave me confidence it would actually stop. They're certainly better than I expected for the money.

I tend to use ATE who are an OE manufacturer, if you time it right on autodoc it won’t break the back either. Their ceramic pads are ace and worth the slight extra for a reduction in brake dust.

I’ve got Comline on mine as they were the cheapest I could fine at the time. The coating has help up well, no rusting and they still look like new.
I’ve had MTEC disks in the past, very noisy and they warped within a year.

I bought Pagid discs from Halfords when there was an offer on (as did many other members) for my 3.0i running a 3.0Si brake conversion. Very satisfactory for ordinary road driving.

I usually go for Brembo. They work perfectly well for road use and have one slight advantage over some other makes, as the centre hubs are well painted and tend not to go rusty anywhere near as quickly as others do.

I also have pagid front and rear very satisfied especially paying £6 each for rear discs

I think £19 for the 325mm, and the hubs hadn’t started going rusty a year after fitting.

Thanks for all of your comments. I went for Pagid in the end. Very good deal from Halfords …£37 for the pair!!
Less than half the price from Euro car parts!!

[ref]x-driver[/ref], if you’re after 325mm then bmw do them, very expensive but you might get a good deal with vertu on eBay. Otherwise Zimmerman do some that I’ve seen on AUTODOC.

That’s the ones.
Or these… https://ebay.us/m/V8wMGV

But price currently not at all realistic.

Well I won't be going the OEM way here (except maybe with blanks).
I already know the Zimmermanns, had them on my e39. I was thinking about Brembo Xtra drilled discs. Some say they are more rustproof than many others. I've seen some users here installed these Brembos but didn't comment them after some time of use.
But Brembo doesn't make rear Xtra discs to match the fronts, neither does Zimmermann.

Some Americans do, but I rather wouldn't import from there.
Also some brands unknown to me seem to make drilled rears. Can anyone recommend any of them or should I rather go with just the fronts drilled?

Used loads of Zimmerman discs…probably the best…used Brembos good..but no cigar compared to Zimmerman..

MTEC not so good..
