Brake discs and pads

Hi all,

I am changing the front and rear rotors/pads for my 2007 Z4 3.0si but with so many kit choices available, I really need help in deciding which ones I should buy. From my initial review of some auto part sites, these look like good choices:

- Brembo rotors with Bosch Ceramic QuietCast
- Zimmerman rotors with Akabeno Ultra Premium Ceramic

Which would you choose? Any others you would recommend?

Thanks

I've heard good things about MTech's discs, and recently ordered a set (front and back). Also replacing the hoses.

I went for drilled and grooved for the discs.

For pads, I've ordered a set of EBC Redstuff.

I haven't managed to have any of it fitted yet because the front EBC pads haven't arrived yet, will hopefully be able to next week.

Fitted the drilled Mtech discs all round about a year ago to my 3ltr Si and they are still looking and working well, pads were normal brembo items

I have Mtec dimpled and slotted on the front with their own pads. They work fine and are quite inexpensive but are relatively noisy but then i think all drilled/dimpled disks probably are. As soon as they come back in stock I'll stick a pair on the back as well.

I fitted a set of drilled/grooved and was surprised how noisy they can be...

I’ve just ordered mtech dimpled and groved for my 3.0sj (after months of waiting for the rears to be in stock) With Green Stuff pads. Always used this combo and have no problems with them. Never had any noise on mine. I’ve gone for the black coating too.

Drive down a narrow lane with walls on each side and the roof down and you’ll hear the noise of drilled disks. My motorbike and my mountain bike also do it.

Thanks for your responses. Between these two, which would you choose:

- Brembo rotors with Bosch Ceramic QuietCast
- Zimmerman rotors with Akabeno Ultra Premium Ceramic
