Brake disc skimming?

I seem to remember a system that skims the brake discs in situ?

I know he's not everyone's favourite and I've never used him, but Mike (DLV) at the Zed Shed in Warrington and not far from the OP advertises that he does on vehicle disc planing.

[ref]PDJ[/ref], Please pm me.
[ref]JoshsZ4M[/ref], thanks.
[ref]Stevepj[/ref], Yep, I've used Zedshed, moved the roof motor, did a good job.

BTW, Zedshed is in Newton-Le-Willows, unless he moved.

Is it me or are Z4m brake discs a lot more expensive nowadays?
I've been seeing price rises since the beginning of the year - you can probably blame 3 things...1) brexit, 2) covid, 3) weak pound.

When I first got my M last year I swapped out the knackered discs and pads for ATE (they were the supplier to BMW originally) discs from Euro Car Parts (great value compared to BMW) and genuine pads... they’ve been great thus far, and stop more than adequately for fast road without any fade 🤟

*edit* ECP currently have a Halloween offer... which on a quick check bought the ATE sided discs out at £389 for the pair including VAT 👍 could be a good option 🙂
Their sister company carparts4less.co.uk have the same discs for £339.40 (with SCREAM99 20% discount code).

That’s a great price, just bought myself a front set.

Hi,

Whereabouts are you & did you get sorted?

Skimming disks is bloody easy off the car, I have access to all the equipment and very capable of doing it, only ever had to do one set though as its not VFM usually but if you are paying 100's and there's enough meat on them then worth a pop.

Unless theres something special about these then 50 or 60 quid should sort it.

M6 J31 area is where you'd need to get them.

I get a steering wheel wobble that increases intensity with increased speed. Could this be warped discs?

I have had a seized front caliper on these discs in the recent past. I also don't think it's a wheel balancing issue, as I had both fronts done recently when I got new tyres fitted.
