Brake Disc Options

Hi all, hope you're having a great weekend.

I am buying some new fronts (and rears at some point but that's not important now) and will be upgrading to the 325mm disc size. I am also upgrading to Brembo 4 pots. I will be doing at least 3 track days this year so would like them to last (drilled are a no no for me). This car is also my daily.

I have searched the interwebs and found a few options:
  • EBC BSD Grooved - £250 pair
  • MTEC Grooved Coated - £100 pair
  • Brembo Max Line Grooved Coated - £112 pair
  • Black Diamond G12 Grooved Coated - £190 pair

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these discs or can advise me on any others that are suited to track conditions that hopefully don't break the bank.

MTEC coated and drilled on my 3.0si take a lot of abuse with no issues. Boiled my brakes many times, no cracks.

Iv always used Brembo drilled discs with EBC pads, never had any issues, little to no fade with spirited driving. Not tried MTECs although plenty of people on here using them with no complaints

I’ve just put MTECs on my car car, grooved and dimpled ones. They are noisy till the coating wears off and their own brand pads are very dusty. They stop well though and are certainly cheap.

Okay thanks guys. Do any of you have track experience with these or know anyone who does?

I used these on the race car before switching to M3 discs. No issues. Still have them if you fancy some track-cured discs for beer tokens.

FWIW, i managed 12 or so trackdays on completely standard discs... the things that will be the limiting factor on a trackday are the brake pads first and foremost, and then the brake fluid. if you've got decent pads and fluid in, then you'll likely overheat the tyres before you start worrying the discs.
