Brake disc deposits

Hi guys .
I replaced my discs and pads 8 month ago with brembo discs and pagid pads .
I recently had some real bad vibration from the wheels and so spoke to ecp and they replaced the discs for me under warranty.
Although they did say the discs wasn't warped it was a build up of deposits .
So new discs on and no vibration .
Would it be the pagid brake pads causing this ?
I have an auto so do tend to hold it on the brakes at the lights etc .
If it's the pads is there better ones to buy that will not cause the same thing ?

I believe you should not hold an auto on the brake pedal ifyou want to save your discs and clutch/gearbox.
It is also annoying for the person behind especuially in the dark and wet.
If you heat up the discs through braking to a stop and then sit there with the car held on the btrakes the discs do not cool evenly
and I have read that this can cause warping leading to uneven braking.

It takes a second to pop it in and out of park.
Just a suggestion

As this is my first every auto I have wondered about holding it on the brake and if this would cause the problem .
Since the new discs I've started popping it into park
Hopefully this will cure the problem I just wondered if the pads needed an upgrade to help stop this .

Yes they were bedded in right .
The problem only developed after about 6 months then I started checking the front end for problems found none so got the discs replaced and the vibration was completely gone .
I do think it may be caused by my driving as I said I'm my post so now I will keep an eye on my discs for any build up and alter my driving :thumbsup:

Auto box manufactures specially advise that you should leave it in drive unless its going to be for an extended period. Even BMW's owners manual says this for the auto versions. Moving it in and out of drive actually causes more wear on the box.
The brake light thing is another issue!

Back to thinking better quality pads may be the answer . :cry:

I've been looking at the ebc red stuff ceramic pads would anyone know if these will help with the disc deposit problem ?
Any advice would be great .

In addition to putting the brake on when on a hill to stop you rolling back, My X5 has switchable auto hold with the handbrake - where BMW suggest that if you are in stop/ start traffic you engage it and it will automatically put the park brake on ( rear wheels) every time you stop in traffic - thus avoiding shifting in and out of Drive / Park and / or holding on the foot brake. But otherwise its out of gear and in park.
I expect the E89 has the auto hold features but not my E85.
If your discs were identified as having "deposits" then this would most likely come from holding the car on the brakes with hot pads and discs, but that just my opinion.

I shall keep looking into this and see if there is any pads that may not transfer deposits on the discs .
Its not something I've ever had before so makes sense , if I'm holding the pad on a hot disc .
Will look into what pagid pads are made of and go from there :thumbsup:
