Brake decals

Blingy wheels (still not sure I like them!), RPI scoop incoming , what next? Was thinking about painting the brakes but decided against it so I've ordered some silver '///M' brake decals.

BMW very kindly embossed the brakes on the 'M' with logos but hid them aroung the side somewhere and then painted them black cos nobody could see them :? The decals are only available in one colour so I went for silver. They arrived today, you get three different sizes, 11 decals in all. I'll post some pics when they're fitted. I couldn't find these for sale on E Bay but contacted UBER9 who makes the 'BMW' sets. he kindly knocked me a set up for the same price and sent them out the same day. Seems a top bloke.

I even ordered one of his Z4 tee shirts

I don't like brightly coloured pained calipers but the M decal sound like a nice touch. People comment on my valve caps being a nice detail. I'd love to see your calipers when they are done.

The tee shirt however is a step too far IMHO :)

I cleaned and refurbed mine recently (last weekend in minus 1 temparatures) I bought the red caliper paint but bottled out at the last minute and opted for silver. They look great. I would be interested in getting some BMW decals to finish them off. Does anyone know if they are available? 100_0172.jpg 100_0169.jpg 100_0168.jpg

I have the sticker decals. To put your minds at ease they look sas good now as when i first did them a year ago. Thats with some hot brakes at times and some pressure washing. I did use few coats of clear laquer over the top.

Yes, the instructions suggest a couple of coats of HT laquer over the top to really make them secure. BMW looks good on black brakes, hopefully the M logo will look as good

bit off topic/but what paint did u use for brake calipers??
i painted mine silver,with a kit from autoshop(not a cheap kit either),and they havnt lasted well,after a year.
thought about smooth hamerite. any1 tried this?

I've used smooth hammerite on my previous Z4, S2000 current X5 and two other BMWs belonging to mates to cover the rusty hubs and brakes. Never seen it peel or discolour. It seems to do the job well enough.

Plasti-cote enamel paint works really well.
It's in little glass jars from B&Q or wilkinsons is cheaper.
£3.00 a jar or so and stacks of colours, drys quick, go's on smooth and lasts ages.
I've used it for years.

I put them on the front brakes but not the back. Haven't got a photo but will get one taken and put it on here.
