Thinking of painting the calipers on my Z
Now the car is black with red leather and was wondering what colour they should be.
I've been thinking red but not sure if it will look too much.
Other choice would be black and silver for the disc centres.

Whats anyone think ?

Silver is always a good choice

I went for silver, wheels are also silver. Its clean and subtle, not as shouty as RED, did think about blue but wheels are silver and car is grey..

im also wondering this for my white/red leather combo... was thinking red on mine.... any more pics from peoples painted calipers?

Having done the whole 'painted calipers' on previous vehicles, I'd say it looks fine when you've got a set of chronic stoptechs, Brembos or AP's, but I'd seriously avoid a loud colour like the plague if they're just normal OEM calipers; it looks a bit chavvy/try-hard in my opinion. Stick with silver or very light gold (some cars come with this from the factory) if you are intending to paint them. Looks clean and understated, which is far more suited to these cars...

Just my opinion of course!

Did mine red with black disc centres. Originally the red was a bit "shouty" as mentioned above so I toned it down a bit by adding some black into the mix. I quite like them now

I recently repainted mine black as that was the best combination with yellow stuff pads

These however are the stoppers on the M...bit of a different proposition though

I was also interested in doing mine and really wasn't too sure on the red.
Never even considered silver. Looks great in si-forks picture!

I think silver for me too then!

+1 my opinion also

Did this on my old E46. Painted them blue, mainly because that's the only caliper paint I had but it also matched the car colour. I would have to agree with the other comments about "shouty" colours. As you will notice if you have standard calipers the rear one is tiny. having it a bright colour just draws attention to your OEM breaks. The front caliper is of a reasonable size however you wouldn't paint just the front. I think if OEM I would go silver. Its a subtle colour but helps with appearance.

However I do like the colour those red calipers give with a mix of the black paint. Nice work that man.

Cheers guys
You've now given me even more colours to think about
Black, Silver, Gold and Red hahaha
I like the look of the red ones,
Black might get lost alittle,
Now if I could get a nice light gold then that might work :)

What Wheels have you got and which model z/ calipers?

Al lot depends on those and if they are an open style and if large or small calipers. Also consider what theme you are going for.

Here's an old shot of mine with more feature discs and rims. The red gives a little splash of colour against the grey

I cleaned my calipers up & sprayed some clear laquere on them, it gives a subtle bronze effect which is nice & understated

Mine is the same model as yours, same wheels, same red leather but black paint

just done mine silver.. was unsure at first... but really suit the car..

silver my vote and mirroring others, i normally do loud green or red, but these cars doesn't really sit right..

Mine are black and the disk centres are silver. Looks nice and clean and tends not to go gruby as the red ones do on my Leon.
