Brake Calipers

Mine are rusty, despite the fact that the car has new pads and discs.

How best to change that? Paint the current ones or buy nice, new shiny red ones?

Changing pads and discs will not effect the existing rust on the calipers :poke:

No point in splashing out though, just paint them.

Just bought it 2 weeks ago with the new pads / discs & rusty callipers - hence the question!

Hammerite smooth, silver, red, black choice is yours

Just apply with a paint brush

To make it even easier, mask the disc and caliper's surrounding area and spray it with aerosol with your chosen colour. Literrally 2 mins job. Just normal aerosol will do and don't need high temp as some suggest.

Can someone recommend a brand for the paint (supporting high brakes temperature)?
My calipers and the wheels hubs are very rusty too, I just can't stand to see them anymore like that...

Only problem with spraying is that you end up spraying your pads aswell.

Yep, school boy error. We did it when we were 17, cool, and making a mate's fiesta faster :-D

I need to get them done on mine, but might get them stripped and sprayed off the car. Just need to decide on a colour .... Would be silver or black I think to keep the OEM look.

I have silver on mine. Think it looks best tbh. Had black before and they just looked a bit silly. Before black, they were red and that was a huge mistake. Looked so chavvy.

Silver, nice and oem looking:
