Brain Fried !!!!!! Help needed - offsets

Having spent the best part of the day looking at a whole heap of replacement alloy wheels I’ve got myself confused as to what will fit and what won’t !!!!!

Basically my e89 is lowered (bilstein B12 kit) and I’m currently running a replica set of 19” 313 with a 5mm spacer on the fronts I got from CM Wheels.

All good apart from I want a change to something like these:

https://cmwheels.com/product/19″-437m-m4-style-wheels-gun-metal-machined/

Not sure if they would fit as I really don’t want to use a spacer. I’m sure someone can help (Mr Wilks perhaps being the guru of all things round ) or at least if someone could give me some info as a base line to start from.

Pics of my car as is:

On a non severely lowered E89 they would fit, ideally with a 10mm spacer on the front..to bring the steering offset to the correct point..

With your lowered setup you may have to be careful with your choice of widths of tyre

235/35 and 265/30 should work not sure 275/30 will rub..

I assume you’re most focussed on style rather than function?

i suspect those 313 reps are 8j et 38 + 9j et 38 which would account for the need of spacer on front .
The above linked wheels you want will fit to perfection on your lowered Se E89 no need for any spacers .
Generally speaking I wouldn't venture lower than et35 front + rear with a lowered E89 if 8.5j 9.5j .
235 35 19 front tyres + 255 35 rears would be my choice of rubber

Pbondar and Mr Wilks thank you. I bow to your advice and judgement.

Mr Wilks you are correct with your observations and I notice that these tyre sizes seem to be your tried and tested setup ( I’ve read a fair few of your posts today ).

Thanks and my set of 313’s will be for sale in the new year, just saying 👍👍👍👍

Similar question here, 2.0 Msports. Thinking in the future to get some 19s, not planning any suspension changes, and assuming I'd use the same tire width, what are the offset limits?
I have in my sights a set which are: Front 8.5J×19 +35, rear 9.5J×19 +33. Any opinions? Not sure if the rears would rub.....

They will fit fine .
I had 35i Msport lowered on H&Rs that rubbed slightly on rears with compression/bends but once returned to stock no contact .
That was with 9.5j et 35 / 255 35 19 tyres

The grey 35is was on stock springs & I fitted 8.5j et37 front 235 35 19 tyre/rear 9.5j et37 / 255 35 19..
The silver 35i i fitted 8.5j et 35 / 235 35 19 / rear 9.5j et 35 / 255 35 19 but you can see the difference with arch gap.
H&Rs ride better than Eibachs imo but their downside is the drop is 10mm/15mm too low .

I am likewise utterly baffled.

I want to put some genuine M437 on my stock 35is. Seems to be so many conflicting threads about what tyre dimensions to fit. I am thinking of just going for it and fitting 245/35/R19 front and 265/35/R19 rear. I don't want to be faffing with spacers etc.

I got to make a move on this pronto since my runflats on my 326's only have 1000 miles left on them and I had a MoT advisory on this.

Any pointers from the likes of @Mr Wilks and other forums gurus please?

So the offsets 29mm front and 40mm rear are the same as OE options so that’s good / ok from a steering geometry and track perspective..

The widths of your tyres are ‘acceptable within the limits specified for those rim widths..

Others posting suggest on stock suspension they should not foul

Your only minor issue is that they are not matched front and rear in terms of rolling radius

There is a 2.1% variation which may cause in certain circumstances the DSC unit to mid calculate certain parameters related to traction/abs/stability..

On the E89 1.7% was referred to as the limit to preserve integrity of those systems..of course many ry size combinations that breaches those policies

Another post on the M437's here:

On that thread he states, "bought original M437 rims in 9x19" ET29 / 235/35-19 and 10x19" ET40 / 265/30-19 Goodyear F1. No spacers or any modifications necessary". I note the 35 on the front and 30 on the rear.

A further point on the thread is:
"There’s only one thing I don’t understand. As far as I am aware the m437 wheels are designed for 14mm bolts but the Z4 has 12mm. They both have a PCD of 120mm x5".

I’ll have to pass on the bolts...I do know a chap who has those alloys on a 18i with the OE tyres..

But his technical competence is somewhat limited...

Shouldered bolts?

OP has a link to the wheels he wants, they look almost identical to the ones already on his car in the pic below the link... Merry Christmas chum :D
