Braided lines.......quick question

The swivel fitting just means the male / female ends can swivel relative to the hose unlike the standard fittings.

Does that mean you can fit the hose, tighten it up and the hose can still rotate freely?

Holy thread revival again

Can I check the image below has the correct orientation of the circlip small nut.

Is 710mm the consensus length to go for?

I was also thinking to ask for a longer thread on the caliper connector as someone mentioned it bottoming out on the nut - I don't like the idea of using copper washers on the caliper face to act as the seal.

They did fit - the below was the guidance that lead me down that route...

Did you make them up as per this then?

I note the person on the thread said "With an overall length of 700mm, rather than 720mm and the 'small circlip nut' installed the opposite way around, these would have been miles easier to install!"

Would you agree? Have them made up any differently?

Yeah, the image represents the result of that statement (including orientation) and I went for it. Apologies to the OP, I think I did follow up my order with a note to HEL to ensure the correct orientation of the curclip nut

Not sure if it helps or not, but after playing about with the online configurator and emailing HEL directly they told me it would be easier (and cheaper) phoning them to talk through what will be needed for my lines. They are aware of almost every configuration on almost every car so were very helpful when it came to making braided hoses for my Brembo Megane RS caliper conversion.

I know its not for the standard calipers, but this is what mine looked like:

I would suggest giving them a ring and you can voice your concerns about the length of the hose, the circlip nut orientation and the thread length. They'll then be able to advise.

Thanks - I have emailed them.

Looking at your setup, the only difference I would need is the caliper connector for oe , rather than the banjo for your set up.

I presume the grommet is to route the pipe through the star shaped hole bracket on the rear arm - did you file/drill that out?

I am going to remove the oe pipeing and measure the length - what did you go with?

I'm sorry, I thought the images above were for the front brake setup, not the rear. My mistake! The image and explanation I sent above were for the front. My rear brakes lines are still stock (although I am looking to get braided soon).

OK, no worries - for those that went single line at the rear, how did you support the line at the point where the hardline connects to the flexi that goes to the caliper? Is that where the circlip support is used?

HEL are suggesting stay 2 piece as that allows the OEM support to be used?

thanks
