If you'd never spent ANY money on your z4, AT ALL. There is no one on this forum that would argue that you could have probably bought a middle end Porsche or top end BMW by now...

HELL I've spent north of 20k on marmite and I don't regret a damn thing. I'd be rolling around in an early 09/10 GTR by now if I hadn't modified my car!

I can't wait to see what you end up with JE!

Hmmm

Its out of MOT too..

Shame really,it certainly split opinion and the bonnet thing never transpired...... Although i would like that 10 plate GTR he mentions for 20K+ a standard Z4...lol..
 
He probably came to the realisation he could've indeed had a gtr and had to leave the internet to cry over the money wasted.

How had I forgotten El Taco - definitely good entertainment, if a little contentious!
 
It's nice that some people have been positive about project marmite over the last couple of years, but let's be honest for a second, it's a piece of s**t and a waste of a BMW Z4.

And let's face it, £20k? Who's he kidding, I'm confident the donations from this forum would have covered all his costs.

It had no real modifications apart from sheet metal and filler, seats, s**t wheels, spoiler and coilovers. Nothing special and certainly not nice modifications.

Hard to see £20,000 in mods ...

Must have been £18,000 of filler on it though, so maybe not so far out..
 
There's no way I'd ever entertain something like that, but in fairness, he had a vision and he put in the effort to finish it ( almost) and he got it on the road.

It wasn't my cup of tea, but I still admire his patience & commitment. (J.M.O.)

It takes all sorts - If we all had the same thoughts and idea's we'd never have a good debate !

Not sure I agree - definitely the most convoluted con of all time, if it was one. I didn't donate either, but that is just because I am cheap!
