Boxing match: Z4 35is against MB SLK350

I suspect the writer didn't really like the Z4.

But having test driven the SLK - it is a very stodgy drive.
My car feels very lithe.
My sister had a go in my car today and she found it amazing (compared to her old SLK and current Jag)

Plus I think the Z4 is prettier, and the interior is nicer.
So why does anyone choose the SLK

Yes, I accept it's a biased opinion.
 
I'd happily have either of these cars, although the Z4 does look better in my opinion, especially in M Sport/35is guise.

I have driven old and new, and both top end models and base
SLK is not a patch on BMW for driving enjoyment.

As far as I can see the SLK is more about comfortable driving in a convertible
Whilst the BMW is a more engaging drive but you have to accept a less wafting experience, but with a real roadster feel.

In the end, if you want to drive then get the BMW (unless you want the porsche which is either less practical, more expensive or less pretty depending on which model you get)

I say again that the Z4 is the prettiest, most practical (EDIT: open-top) and most engaging drive of virtually any car.
 
Not really a fair match, the z4 had far more power and torque then the slk.... Prob be more fitting have them match it against to 30i.

Personally I think the z4 is prettier... But if your retired and are after a cruiser you can't beat a merc....
