Bought a Z4M Coupe - again!

It's interesting how many of you have sold and then rebought.

I have a 2007 Imola Red Z4M coupe with 31K miles on it. I've been thinking about a 911 for some time and last weekend purchased a 997 C2S Gen1 with Porsche Warranty.

I didn't want to sell my Z4M as they provide a unique experience but I've been wrestling with this in my mind and reading this post tells me I should hold onto the Z4M for now and see how I get on with the 911.

Only thing is I have a single garage so I'm now having to look at alternative storage for my Z4M. I'm looking at a car storage specialist that provides a heated/dehumidified storage building and connects up a CTEK battery charger.

I'm scared that I will just miss the Z4M but I'm in a position where I can currently afford to do this.

The 911 C2S is a great car but strangely it does't offer the raw thrills of the Z4M coupe.
 
I saw that Z4MC at Walkers when I had my Z4MR serviced, lovely car and the best colour :wink:
Would have no issues buying a car from that garage, they were very thorough when they had my car and competitively priced.
 
This is my worry... I need to sell mine to fund the wedding sadly. But started to think I'd maybe buy a 3Si after that... clearly not going to happen is it!

Who knows; maybe the wedding gives you the same fun as the Z4M...

The US market would beg to differ!!! They like their wood and cream colour fabric roofs as well....

For the money the Z4M is a great car.

The 911 Cs is a superior car in every way. But it takes a while to get to grips and understand why it is. Im sure you will grow to love it very quickly.

I owned my M for 3 years and put plenty of miles on it 90% were hooning. My dad had a 911 997 Cs and i got to do a 2000 mile euro trip with a great group of guys from the focum who have gone Z4 - 911 in it and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Get the car where it belongs and it is far superior and it is also very comfortable for long journeys.

Hes just upgraded it to a 991 and it is beyond incredible.

The wood trim was sprayed to look like piano :thumbsup:
 
As Markos and Tom say; the trim was removed and simply sprayed with black car paint. The interior looks and feels much more luxurious now imo, though I do miss the red nappa in my previous zed.

First mod; black kidney grills - done. Next; wheels (possibly CSLs) and tires.

The interior trim was done professionally prior to purchase - it's simply black car paint. The have done a brilliant job, it makes a huge difference.

Great photo of all the cars together. Interesting point regarding the 911 C2S, that it's a great car and that I'll gel with it quickly.

It's going to be tough though to sell the Z4MC. I suppose for us petrol heads it's good to try different cars, but even so these Z4MC's really get under your skin.


I'm going to store' it for now in a proper dehumidified car storage building and if I really gel with the 911, will look to sell mine etc.

For now though, it's going to have a break! :roll:
 
I'm another z4m returner, really cracking value cars that hold their money well. I massively regret not buying a z3mc at the time I bought my first z4m as they are now priced out, I bought my second z4m as I always preferred the coupe looks and couldn't really come up with any decent alternative. Next will probably be a c63 so I can take the family out more often but I'm hoping I can get the estate and keep the z4m as well!

I think this is spot on. I know everyone's budgets vary and the cost/running costs of a Z4M to many might seems high, but I think these are actually terrific value for money. The looks, sound, performance, rarity, I even managed 29mpg on one european trip without trying... great value cars :thumbsup:
