It must just be you, the only time mine has bottomed out was on a really badly rutted road where the front spoiler was catching in the middle.

I know that road well and have traveled over it quite quickly on occasions. Before they re-surfaced one of the "yumps", I used to be able to get air in my Saab turbo...

Mines on standard M-Sport suspension and sits a good deal taller than yours. I wonder if you have a broken spring?

Before you resort to 16s, get the springs checked and try some slightly lower tyre pressures. This will decrease the ride height by about 3-5mm, but might just make things more comfortable for you.

anything wrong with sach for front shocks ? 5 year guarantee
£68.66 a front corner is bloody good
Nothing wrong with sachs shocks, they tend to last 100,000 miles

The wise ones would have you think bilstein and eibach is the only way :tumbleweed:

again im with you on this, i have no idea what a b4 is, i think its a lowered shocker, but i do see a sachs @ 107 and "ordinary" bilstein @ 106 @ carparts4less this morning. and a sachs coil front for 68.66, so thats where i am going ..

Bilstein B4 aren't a lowered shock, they're designed for use with SE springs primarily but can be used with lowering springs if required.
Sach shocks as fitted as standard to E85 and other BMWs of this vintage were pretty poor quality, this forum and others are littered with stories of them failing in some cases as little as 20-30k etc. The standard rear springs were fairly crap as well, its a case of when not if they fail and it doesn't matter if their SE or M sport spec. Oem replacements were no better and also fail hence why folks tend to go aftermarket on here whether they're lowering of not. You have to be careful with aftermarket springs some of them aren't progressive for example. That's why folks tend to use the likes of Suplex who are well known/good quality and do both SE and M Sport spec springs for the Z4

Am sure a suspension refresh will go a long way to sort things.

Just make sure your 3.0 hasn’t had the front callipers changed for the popular 330i swap to 325 rotors, as the minimum size you’ll then be able to fit is 17”
