Both windows not working

I recently replaced a window regulator in my 2003 Z4 and both windows were then working fine. A couple days later turn indicators on the dash stopped working (outside lights still signal) and the airbag light came on. I don't know if that's relevant, probably not. Then I went for a drive and left both windows halfway down after I parked to let the car get some air. Now neither window will do anything. I don't hear any sound, no indication that anything is happening. I tried the driver switches and the passenger switch. I checked fuses and they seemed to be working. I tried disconnecting the negative on the battery for fifteen minutes and that did nothing. Could this be a GM5 module issue? I'd really appreciate any help, it's going to rain in a couple days and I don't have a garage to park in.

Sounds like yet another k-bus issue. You need to get the codes read and see if there are any modules not communicating.
That should narrow down which one is causing the issue.

In the meantime, if you want to get the windows up, then you can do it this way?

Disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes first as otherwise you'll get an airbag light when you disconnect the airbag wires in the main connector.

Open the door and find the loom connector on the A-pillar. Undo the bolt and lift the connector a bit until it disengages from the pillar.

Undo the plug and look at the wires coming from it into the door. Two are much thicker than the rest.

These are near the top of the connector, one above the other.

Left door: black/purple and blue/purple
Right door: black/green and blue/grey

If you use a battery to put power across these two wires into the door you can wind the window up and down.

Do NOT put power across any of the other wires unless you want to test the airbag.
