Bosch wiper fitment advice

One of my wipers on my 2003 Z4 decided to disintegrate in the week so need to replace the pair and was reading on here that 19inch and 20inch is recommended to avoid overhanging the edge of the windscreen where it curves away.

Would just ordering the below single wipers fit without modification?

Bosch Aerotwin Retrofit Single AR19U
Bosch Aerotwin Retrofit Single AR20U

Or are they specific to one side or the other given aero design? They are listed as above on Amazon but elsewhere 'retrofit'

Thanks

21 and 20 for the E85. Super Plus work far better than Aerotwin. My last two Aerotwins have juddered badly, the last set almost from day one.

Seconded on Super Plus 20" and 21". Had them on two different E85's and they've worked well for a couple of winters and some proper downpours. Also pretty good when the road spray is just about there enough to want to wipe.

According to my notes https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391958470159 is where I last bought them £18.44 in October 2024. Cheaper now!

I can't comment on the Super Plus but I have just ordered the 2 wipers and sizes the OP mentions. I believe these are a like for like replacement for what are currently on the car. I thought I bought one of the same wipers last year and couldn't work out how to fit it. I was either being really dumb (not unheard of :D ) or they sent the wrong one. Due to be delivered on Sunday so hopefully no issues this time around.

All my Coupes came with Aerotwins fitted and the passenger one never sat on the screen when they were parked.

I recently replaced them with Super Plus and while it is better it still sits proud of the screen, so next time I'm going to fit a shorter blade on the passenger side.

Yes Mr T..
I have the same issue and will be fitting a shorter blade on the pass side when they need replacing. (No idea what brand or size I currently have)

Does it really matter if the blade touches the screen at rest?
Within a couple of inches of moving it is all wiping the screen properly.
20/21 for me

It flaps around at high speeds (that’s the overhanging bit of the wiper I’m talking about).

This was mine with the recommended Bosch Aerotwin replacement pair, before I started buying individual blades so I could fit a smaller passenger side wiper. So ended up with a 21 for driver side and 18/19 for passenger side (instead of 21+20)…which didn’t lift at 100mph plus on the autobahn or Nordschleife.

You must be talking well over 90! 1 inch of a decent make blade? Never had that

Mine doesn't flap about. It just looks like a poor fit. Kit car like.

That's what I don't like about it too.

I wouldn't mind if it didn't touch the screen somewhere on its sweep, but every time I look at the car it just looks wrong. :?

So the cosmetic view in the car park is more important than the actual performance? :tumbleweed:

It's on the passenger side - it won't make any difference to performance! :P

I have seen some e85 wipers being curved to sit on the screen. I don't remember wheter they were Bosch or something else.
When I bought the car there were Bosch Super plus like wipers mounted on and not sitting nicely on the screen. I then replaced them with new OE wipers and they sit quite nicely on the screen.
