Saturday night before the run...

As a few people are coming up the night before I wonder what appetite (pun) there was for an informal dinner...

It's a bit of a mixed bag out here in the sticks..so I can advise informally some of the better dining places at certain budgets and/or we could meet up at one of these places?

I'll leave it democracy to decide...OMG... :o

I'd be up for something to eat and it's always better with a reccomendation

Thanks Peter. We're planning a day long 200 mile drive up through the Pennines and over the border with JamesDitchy and Cerbera, so depending on our arrival time and how beat Ali and I are then a good meal out sounds nice.

Sorry but won't make this run as my sister is moving to Hong Kong and that weekend is the only time for her last visit.

I am sure it will be a good run and am gutted to miss the third one as the last two have been great.

Hello Gary, that's fine, I'll be making a fresh role call in about 10 days time as some people have dropped out since they stated they were coming...

Also that will give us the final numbers for lunch which affects our decision on which lunch stop...

We will start and end in Jedburgh starting around 09:00 and returning 16:00-17:00

Look forward to seeing you...what car do you have?

Following on from runs to 'Dumfries and Galloway' and 'Scottish Borders' and after discussing with Craig3.2, I'm pleased to say we are adding the third element of this Scottish trilogy.

The Border Reivers run will start in a Scottish Border town on an approximately 225 mile route heading south west across the Border, following Hadrian's Wall then in a large orbit through the English Scottish Borders finishing back to said same town.

It doesn't use any of the roads used on the previous two runs.

Expressions of interest welcome..joining details will be sent out a week before. Looking for an 09:00 departure and return around 17:00.

For interest Border Reivers were raiders along the Anglo-Scottish border from the late 13th century to the beginning of the 17th century. Their ranks consisted of both Scottish and English families, and they raided the entire Border country without regard to their victims' nationality. When raiding, or riding, as it was termed, the reivers rode light on hardy nags or ponies renowned for the ability to pick their way over the boggy moss lands, as soldiers, the Border reivers were considered among the finest light cavalry in all of Europe.

Not sure whether a Z4 meets the criterion, you will have to decide if you qualify as a reiver!

Any questions..pls ask..

Let's hope the weather is as kind to us as on other runs, for your first Scottish meet you have been kind enough to organise.....the weather has been good and bad in equal measure, from day to day, lol.
Fingers crossed it's dry at least :D :driving:

Craig, thnx, it will be what it will be...I've given up planning based on weather as even at 24 hours notice they can't seem to get it right...I guess if it is p*ssing it down then there will be less grockles ..-:)
