Boot/trunk won't open after roof issue

Hi folks,
Ultimate issue this morning.
Roof down/no access to the boot/ no means to get the roof back up....
This history: Installed a roof module to allow remote key fob opening/locking ( www-cabrio-module.de). This was installed okay and I was pleased, then one day the roof would not go down. Suspecting it was the rear boot lock mechanism I investigated that and even ordered a new one. It turned out not to be that but the way the roof module was powered - the boot lock would give the classic lock mechanism noise as is normal. . So I didn't install the new boot mechanism and kept it as a spare. All has been well for a month. Then horror of horror with the roof down I couldn't get the roof to go back up. I thought it's the roof module again. Unable to gain access to where the module is due to the roof I'd try disconnecting the battery power and then reconnect to get the module to function again.
I found out since that this roof module is a bit unreliable but I thought it was maybe just a one off.
I closed the boot to see of the locking module would work again to get the roof up and get the erratic module out. It didn't give the locking mechanism noise.
Except now I can't get the boot open.
The battery is connected but the negative lead is in position but not tightened (as I was still trying to get the problem sorted). So the car starts and the central locking works but I can't get the boot open now.
Looked at old posts but I'm stuck. Don't want to go to the dealer as funds are at rock bottom. Car is in the garage so at least safe and dry.
I have a ski hatch - but of course the roof is down.
Anybody any ideas please?
(I wil be taking that roof module out and back to standard if I get to that point)

are you getting any error codes using INPA or else?
I have the error code for the trunk not shut. I have a Foxwell reader with the BMW option. It is not as comprehensive as some scan tools on out there.
I have put the car on charge - it had a quality new battery fitted in April. Was hoping a 100% charge might help as the boot closing module maybe needs a higher voltage.

okay, so you got the code
then probably the hall sensor #7 is broke which is sending wrong signal about the trunk

In theory that could be the case but with the roof closing module the problem is almost certainly related there. I went down the road of thinking the issue was the boot closing unit and after ordering a new unit I found the problem was related to the roof closing module I installed. Stupidly I did not remove the module (as another forum reader had had issues with this make of module) and now I am in the scenario of roof down, boot locked.
In order of solving the problem I need to get the boot working properly and then see if I can get that roof up to remove (permanently) the roof closing module

Thanks for the reply with the details. I have had some experiance with the boot closing module on a previous session. I even have a brand new spare that wasn't needed. This fault being linked to the that roof module I talked about.
I need to see why that boot lid will no longer lift as first priority. Once again I'm sure it is linked to that roof module. I have seen some people talking about rocking the boot lid but I'm not sure about that... :?

RobbieZ4 might be a good point of contact as he's very experienced, but otherwise I think you need stealer to unlock it for you... can't see any other options (other than the mechanical fix that I think flybobbie posted - but you need it to be open first :headbang: )....

I thought that 1h30 would cover getting the roof back up too.. A manual cable release would be a idea for sure.
Independant dealers are few and far between here.. Back in good old blighty there is much more choices open
