Boot rack+bag review

Just wanted to share with you my experience with this accessory that I got from "boot-bag.com".

So far I've only done some dry runs. About two hours on the highway, without anything on it. Still solid connection. Rain also doesn't seem to affect it in any way.
Very easy to put on and even quicker to take off. So far so good.
I'll be leaving in a couple weeks for the longest road trip of my life, a few good months around the entire Europe, so this should help with some extra storage. I will load it with just clothes in the beginning, until I will start trusting it

Be interesting to see what error messages /faults appear if you open the roof with a heavy bag attached?

My guess is the hydraulics will just power it..

With the roff down and a full bag I wonder it makes a secondary wind break?

I don't think I will be able to do that, not even accidentally, given that the trunk will actually be stuffed with baggage, otherwise I won't have this attached.

Well, it applies to most of Europe tbh. They get everywhere. Where are you from then out of curiosity?
Scariest place I've been driving was Bulgaria. Not in the Zed but with a Dutch numberplate Skoda. Jeesus, never again!

Looks like a good piece of kit. I’d be interested to know how you get on with it. I’m assuming your gonna put the roof down then put the rack on , then if it rains you stop and take it off to put the roof up. I would imagine it’s pretty quick to put on and take off.

I can understand that I'm from Romania, and even we Romanians are more cautious while in Bulgaria ))
When I was a kid there used to be highway pirates there. They would force stop you and strip you of pretty much everything No joke.

I can theoretically tie the bag around the trunk lid. I still need to check if it's safe for the rubber seals.

One could do that. It only weighs a max 20 kg loaded and the suction cups are strong enough to even convert the car with it on. They are so strong I can lift the back of the car is the suspension by pulling up on it.
But my purpose is a bit different than that. I'm actually never going to convert as I need the trunk space. I've sold everything, including my house, and I need all the space I can have for very long travelling bags. The right seat is going to be storage as well
