I know my E85 is over 10 years old now and I can't really except everything to be working perfectly. When I open the boot with the remote (or button in the drivers foot well) it releases the lock but the spring or struts are no longer powerful enough to lift the lid . I have lubricated all the pivots which has made raising and lowering easier, and I don't have a spoiler or luggage rack. Does anyone know if new struts, assuming they are available would be likely to cure this ?
