Boot opening

Feel almost embarrassed to ask after a long and happy membership and owner of a few zeds, but here goes.
I get so annoyed at having to switch the engine off and remove the key fob in order to open the boot. There must be some way of doing it without having all the hassle. It must be simple but just don't know how?

I haven't tried yet but can you just not use the roundel handle on boot itself? cant think of another way as we don't have the release in the car like the e85, only in bmw.. god knows why you would downgrade your upgraded model

If you mean the car is locked then press the unlock button on the dash which will unlock all the doors, boot and fuel flap.
If 1 of the doors has already been opened the first press of the unlock button may lock the door first, then the next press will unlock everything.
Then the boot can be opened using the boot handle/roundel

I think he means opening the boot from inside the car while the key is in dash which I dont think can be done although ive not had mine long enough to work it out myself :D

Nictrix is right, thats the way Ive done it while the engines running

The remote boot release button (down by the drivers leg, similar to E85) was an option wasn't it? Can hence be retrofitted?

I don't think it was an option in the UK but it can be retrofitted. I am pretty sure someone here has done it not too long ago.

It can be done and is how we have been doing it for the last 8 years.
The boot doesnt open as such but unlocks so it can be opened with the roundel handle.
The engine can be running while this is done.

I haven't spent enough time in my car yet :D I'm just trying to think where is the unlock button on the dash?

You’re just in awe of that stunning stereo upgrade each time you’re in it that you don’t notice anything else

Me too bud, that’s me just weeks short of a year at home. Zed s not turned a wheel in weeks. Had it six months as the tax renewal dropped in the other day but being an optimist I’ll re-tax it in the hope I’ll get out

Thanks Guys, that works. Must admit with all the toys I have never actually noticed that button or realised what it is for.

Yes I did mean opening the boot from inside while the engine is running. Usually to let the wife get something out of the boot when dropping her off somewhere. Life all of a sudden is much easier.

Those buttons don't get pushed much, treat gently, my car buttons got pushed through the dashboard. The plastic holding them in is very fragile.
In fact at one side looked like some moulding was missing.
