Boot opening with key (premium coupe club)

Right, Ive had loads of beemers with the hex key.. (same as I have on my coupe) all of them if the car was locked but you hold the boot button down for 1 second the boot would semi open/unlock

with the coupe this does not happen, if the car is unlocked it works but when its not I have to unlock the doors with the fob then press it :/

anyone else have this

Yes i noticed the same thing but when i mentioned it to the dealer when i had to take the car in to have a key programmed they said that is the way it is on the coupe a fail safe to stop you locking the keys in the boot :o

yeah my M3 worked and my 330d I have works also!

Its kind of a pointless button now :/ if the doors are open anyway I just lift the badge and the boot opens lol

this is a programmable function.

My roadster (which unlike the coupe doesnt have the flap to open the boot) wouldnt unlock the boot with the doors locked.. so i would need to unlock the doors then pres the boot release button.

I took it to the independent dealer to get it reprogrammed

premium coupe club? there will be a premiun roadster club next

i just checked mine, mine does flip up unless its unlocked first

My Coupes the same only unlucks when doors are already opened, which seems pointless. Any idea how much a stealer will rip you off to change the programme?

yep
Is it really all that useful a feature though?
Having access to a locked boot and then re-locking it with 1 button press instead of 2
I can't say I've missed it

Mine works the same whether locked or unlocked.

x2... Maybe it's an ///M thing :poke:

Sorry to burst your bubble but mine won't open unless the cars unlocked :(

Also I'm surprised that auto door locking when the vehicle starts moving isn't set on as a standard feature, given the chance of car jacking in a premium car . Even my transit does this and no one would want to steal that pile of shite... :)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but mine has drive away locking :poke:
Good looking car by the way, great colour :P

Just checked mine out of curiosity and the button unlocks the boot even if the doors are locked.... I feel special!

Well I tell you what, how about we swap cars, no one will notice colour wise and I'm happy to relieve you of the burden of driving around with such a terrible set of alloys on your car.... no no... don't thank me, Im just a caring person...

I always thought the boot didn't open on the coupe as it's directly into the passenger compartment and would set the alarm off, no?

I'm a generous, caring person too, so how about we share them? Do you want near side or off side? :D
