does anyone else return to find their boot popped up or doors unlocked? This has happened to me a fair few times- dont no if it is a prob or if ive hit the button in my pocket while walking away?

It used to happen to me if I kept the keys in my back pocket in the house - I left the roof open all night once because I held down the unlock button without realising :headbang: Obviously sorted by keeping the keys on a shelf.

The earlier models had a very short button push duration to open the boot. They changed it in 05 (?) so you need to hold it down longer and avoid those mishaps.

Yes, I used to find this, also on my old E46. Sometimes the spare in my pocket would open the tailgate while driving even.

I have the reverse problem... Can't seem to open the passenger door and boot - have to wait forever in between button presses.

(an 06 btw)

You left the roof open all night - how did you manage to do this from your keys

on '05 onwards, you can remote open the roof with the key. Not remote close though.

Only thing is, that if I remote open the roof, I have to be within a couple of metres of the car for it to work so amazing you could do that from a distance.

Is there any way to configure or set this up on a 03 model, thanks for the reply

No, but you can get a Reinhold module that does open and close for you from the key.

I done this with my new M3 Vert about 3 years ago. The other half looked out the window at about 12 and said the roof was open, I thought someone had been at the car! :?

Never thought about that before, but actually from where my sofa is straight back through the wall, it was only about 2.5m to the clown nose, and not much further through a glazed panel in my back door. The key used to work better for me from the front or side, but not very well from rear 3/4 or back of car.

Ah, but you had a cheaper car then me despite it being newer, so it must have been thinner metal   :P
