Hi Guy's is the boot surface area the same on an e85 as a e86?

I appreciate the e86 will hold more but in terms of buying a boot mat will one that's designed for the floor of an e85 (non M) fit my e86 (non M)?

I have spent an our or so cleaning dog hair and a bit of mud out of the back of it. I am not doing it again.

TIA

Come on guys. One of you must have had a coupe and a soft top or at least compared the two side by side?

Fairly sure the floor area is the same, but with the coupe you get the extra height of course as the folding roof isn’t sat on top. I never measured the floor areas when I had the roadster and the coupe but they looked the same!!

Cheers [ref]groovy_hippy[/ref],

There are some matt's that I am after but they say they are for an e85 and I was 99% sure that they would fit my e86 but thought I would ask .

I bought this mat for £9 it sits a little over to the sides, but the good thing is it covers over the flap on the left that holds my roof motor.

Cheers Steve.

This is what I was looking at:

I was thinking the rubber version. Just something to take the bulk of the mud when I can't load him up in the back of my partners car.

I think you are right in the post you shared and you have convinced me.

I don't think I can be bothered to spend double the price when I can hack up a Lidl or ebay special. Money best spent else where.

Gone for this in the end- I will just trim it down. Saves a trip down the crack isle at Lidl.

It looks exactly the same as the Lidl one.
You pay postage versus not mingling with the covid-ridden hoi polloi at the Lidl.

To say you openly shop at Lidl, careful that you take a test to ensure you're not 'covid-ridden'

Covid19 possibly the least of my worries shopping in that place. I only really go there for the cheap-as-chips but tasty-as-hell Kordaat beer.
Can never quite hold my breath long enough for the duration I'm in there however.

So pleased that the Lidl near me is not so rank as they sound in Holland!

Was everyone happy with their boot mats?

I didn't bother chopping mine up in the end- just put it in as it was.

Mine still going strong and thanks to my good ladyfriend Laura not securing a cap on a flask of coffee a spill was recently dealt with most admirably.
Simple wash down and everything tip top again. :)

I chuck allsorts in the boot including muddy walking boots, dead bodies, wet MTB wheels and sweaty bike gear so a rubber mat is an absolute essential in my book.

yup, wifey seems happy.
I spent a while trimming it and managed to get it to fold over neatly into the cubby holes on either side at the back too. Doesn't fill them but now its all settled and the transit creases have gone it does seem to hold it in place well and gives (in my eyes) a more finished look.

That was my plan, and then I thought if I leave it as is I can transfer it across to her one series if need be.

turns out I haven't had to transport the dog more than once since I bought it.
