Boot lid slightly not flush on one side

Hey gents, me again!

Something I noticed today - after opening up the roof, the boot edge doesn't quite seem flush on the driver side when I look at it in the rear view mirror, whereas the passenger side, it does.

I've inspected the joints after opening the roof in service mode, everything seems in order, although there is some dirt here and there that I'll clean up and use rubber conditioner on this weekend. No "smoking gun" that i can see.

Anyone notice an issue like this, any idea of what might cause it, if it isnt just a case of the rubber needing a clean?

Pictures below.

This is the view in my driver's mirror - it really does look not-flush....

The joints seem decent with the white lithium, but the rubber sealing does look dirty here and there, this is the worst looking spot.

Any thoughts?
Thanks mates!

It's possible if someone replaced the boot closed microswitch and didn't mark and align the bolts. Or, didn't adequately tighten them. There is 3 of them. Center bolt is stationary, the front and back swivel.

I did replace the soft close mechanism a week ago. I didn't realize i had to align or mark anything.....any guidance on how to proceed/set it properly?

No, I didn't mean that. I'm referning to the boot closed microswitch. The mechanism controls the closing of the rear portion of the boot. Look at my video to see the operation.

It's certainly the advanced amount of pollen on your zed weighing down the boot lid.

The kinematics bolts are where this is adjusted like Javis20 has noted. I had to do a lot of trial and error to get my lid looking correct.

After my Z had been into the dealer for some work on the wiring I took it back to query a not dissimilar issue. They claimed they couldn’t fix it without fitting a whole new roof! I declined obviously and of course it just needed a bit of adjustment - 5 minute job by someone who knows what they’re doing
