Boot lid question

Ok apologies if asked before

On E30s there was a spring tension mechanism on the boot lid opener that gave it more oomph if you had the heck spoiler fitted

Is there similar on the E85? Just wondered as the boot lid not popping open when I press the button bugs me?

Hi,
On E85s the lid just pops open a cm so you can get fingers under the edge. The gas springs only prevent the lid from falling down. I tried to find the exact specs for the OEM gas springs (Stabilus) in order to replace them with stronger ones but didn’t find the ones used in E85s on their site.
 
I’m sure a few years ago somebody on here did something to make it open fully on its own.

Do a search on here , you should find it.
