Boot lid lift G29

Sorry for the newbie question. Should the boot lift up more than a fraction after pressing the boot release on the key fob? I know I haven't got motorised boot lift, but I wondered if the gas struts should do more than hold the heavy boot in place when it's fully opened?

Mines the same (although I don't use the fob, I just reach under and press the latch) it just unlocks it ready to lift by hand

Like the E85, though, I wish it did lift a little higher – if you hit the release button on the fob by accident, it can be pretty difficult to tell that it's open until you're in the car and see the warning. On a previous E85 I replaced the little rubber stops where the trunk meets the body with those spring-like lifters that are under the hood so that it was visually more evident that the trunk was open. I wonder if the same thing is possible in the G29?
