Boot Illumination

I know this is weird but...

I'm after a way of improving the lighting inside the boot! I live in the middle of nowhere (zero street lighting) so when I open the boot at night I can't see a thing and end up rummaging around for things for ages like a weird episode of Crystal Maze. I always have stuff in the boot that covers the only existing light too so it really is pitch black!

I'd really like some kind of LED strip on the underside of the boot-lid, so it illuminates from above when opened, but no idea if this is possible due to the double-hinged nature of the boot!

Any suggestions/solutions would be welcome!

Cheers

You could run a led strip, you'd need to route the wiring carefully along the parts that lift (the large tubing). I just put a brighter LED bulb in the standard lamp casing, works for me.

Buy a torch.... or better still a mechanics torch - you know the hands-free one that's on a strap that goes round your head.

This guy has mounted LED stripes in the corners of the internal trunk cover:

Too much for me, my trunk is not Wembley Stadium...

I have changed the original bulb (well, all interior bulbs in the car) for a brighter LED in the original casing.
