Boot Golf Mark V - any tips how to best manage space

Hi all,

The boot of a Golf Mark V seems to be quite large. And no dividers in the boot. So if I only have a few shopping bags / items, what's the best way to secure? I thought about a net - but looked on ebay - over £50. Or what about a tray with dividers? Do any decent ones exist? :driving:

my wife has a dog basket in her golf V for our terrier . she puts her shopping inside that to stop it rolling around :)
had similar problem in previous estate cars & bought a folding crate . worked well
great car's . .which model have you gone for ?

I had a little fold flat reinforced Nylon carrier affair that had movable dividers in with Velcro fastenings. Very useful.

The mk5 is a great car. I had an Edition 30 but put far too many miles on it and it had to go.

Hi Mr Wilks. Thanks. I don't have any pets. But come to think of it, crate wise, used a plastic crate in the Z4 last Bank Hol weekend and it worked a treat (to carry 7 of Dad's home grown marrows - hm, felt like a grocer!).

1.6 fsi, Match (apparently). Has ipod slot, front armrest, comfy seats, auto lights, electric mirrors.
The manual and books are doorstop sized! I haven't figured out yet if the car has auto slanting mirrors on reverse. Which model does your wife have?

The new car is a dream to drive. Picked it up at the weekend. It has a lot more juice than I imagined from a 1.6. Should be more economical than Burt the Zed.

Was that a Waitrose shopping bag or something?
What's Edition 30? I am loving the Mark V Stuart. It took me a long time to like it. I finally came around to liking the 'moon-shaped' headlights about 4 years ago. Before, I was in big love with the Mark IV. The Golf Mark V is so comfy!!!

You need a boot tidy from Aldi about £3.Really big and velcroed. The wife has one in her Audi.

Are there no hooks for bag handles, most cars have them these days.

Ah, had a closer look, there is indeed one hook on left and one on the right. But think is quite high up in the corners so your bags have to have quite large handles. Do you find them useful?

Or I could just buy some new handbagsssss :P

Fold up crates indeed.

However, Mrs PVR always seemed to fill up the X5 anyway so there was no way for the stuff to move

Nothing at all - I've had a Mk5 Golf amongst many other cars and never had the need to think about getting a divider of any sort, nothing has rolled around enough to cause any damage......
