Boot break light - what glue?

Hi, my boot brake light is loose. The black seal around it deteriorated probly due to cleaning and so I peeled it off and dried it then used No More Nails glue to try and stick it but did not work.
Does anyone know a glue that will stick plastic to car metal??

clear silicone probably your best bet for a little extra security where the seal is gone, but you do realise its attached by a nut and spring system inside the bootlid?

mr.touette is correct, look inside the rear face of the bootlid you will see two nuts with a spring behind on the long light unit securing bolts. The spring pressure these exert supposidly make the unit seal with its rubber gasket to provide a watertight seal. After market light units come with poor gasket material on them so some extra silicon sealant is probably best to use. Do not overtighten those nuts you run the risk of the bolts breaking loose from the unit.

Half that price on the old eBay for decent copies and it really is a simple job.
But if you want genuine and peace of mind then that's an ok deal.

Or, give Sopers of Lincoln a call. Mention the forum and get 10% discount.
I did just that for a mirror switch and they posted it without any additional cost.
So if you can afford to wait a few days then it could save you a few pennies.

Part Number for a red one is 63256917378

Or get a genuine clear one: 63256930246

I don't generally do much work on my car but I did this myself a while back using an OEM one. Just don't overtighten the nuts. I did mine to what I thought was the least I needed and it's been fine.
