Hi all.

Now my Z4 has been sold to a new home, I'm selling my Boot Bag. This is the 50% bigger version (Boot Bag Vacation)

I bought this to use for a trip around Europe last year. It has only been used for the 2 weeks we were on the continent. It's in "as new" condition. We used it to store our lighter weight camping items (pillows, sleeping bags, etc.)

Manufacturer's website - http://www.boot-bag.com/boot-bag_-_vacation.htm

I know there have been posts about these in the past on this forum, so I was very weary when I bought it, as I am very particular about my car's bodywork. When I bought this I was not sure if I'd be using it or not as I wasn't sure if I'd trust it. But it is very good and never comes in to contact with the car's bodywork at all in a way that could harm it. I made sure there was a good layer of wax/ sealer on the boot before I used this, and also made some "sleeves" in microfibre cloth that can be put over the webbing straps so that they work better on the edges of the panels - up to you if you use them though, as the manufacturer says it doesn't need them. It was just a precaution for me! It doesn't move at all when at speed. I even drove around the Nurburgring with this on the back, and it didn't budge.

Actual item for sale...

Some (quite poor!) pictures of it on the car, but you get the idea...

Due to the excellent condition this is in, I'm looking for £80 delivered (UK mainland).

Matt.

surely this MUST cause paintwork scratches.... just the way its secured for example.... i love the concept however.

I know what you mean. I gave it a chance as I wanted to try and camp on our tour of Europe to save money on accommodation, and it turned out to be amazing - it didn't mark the car one bit. The paintwork on the boot lid was as good after the trip as it was before. And I mean close up too - I'm picky like that. Obviously I didn't just leave it on there for the fortnight - every day I religiously cleaned the boot lid and the non slip mat properly with plenty of water to remove any minute dirt particles, etc.

There are, however, a lot of comments similar to yours on various roadster forums (non-bmw) across the Internet! I did a lot of research before I bought it.

fair enough and i actually believe you, it looks to add a very decent amount of volume to what a roadster can hold. The z4m models have a high battery taking up even more space. i have to say i love the look of these things as i think its cool to see a small roadster loaded to the hilt and clearly being enjoyed :-) Good response definitely and I'm pretty certain that will see on here quickly. i agree as long as the trunk is totally clean i guess it CANT cause scratches.

welcome to the forum BTW, i can see your a long time lurker but don't post much :-)

Hi all. This is still for sale. Now reduced to £70 (delivered). Will put this on ebay at the end of this week if not sold.

Matt.

Great piece of kit & with a week touring Scotland in 3 weeks time it would no doubt be useful but the downside being mrs w would just take more handbags & shoes so on that basis best of luck with the sale
