bonnet slightly bent

Hi,

This has started to bug me. When I'm driving I can notice that the bonnet line looks to be a little out of shape (flat) around the top of the wheel arch. Got out and looked at the shut lines and the front right corner does seem to be forward a little. I suspect someone has sat on it around the wheel arch area and flattened it slightly. Would it be worth trying to manually bend it back a little (it really is only a small amount) or should I drop it in to a dealer?

Thanks,

sean

Before making any adjustments take some accurate side to side checks using a long straigt edge and see if the profile is identical. 1m box spirit level would be good size.

Adjustment will be easy but if the bonnet is bent then always a compromise.

As for bending it yourself unless you feel very competent leave well alone. It's made of soft aluminium and will be all too easy to mess up. They are £900 plus spraying if i goes wrong and equally a dealer won't touch it, only a specialist bodyshop may consider. Most will just fit a new one

All fixed!!! My ex mechanic brother simply adjusted the bonnet bump stop at the front of the car and now it's perfect.

Result - so it wasn't bent just in need of a bit of adjustment
