bonnet rubbing on radiator cover

I have noticed that the underside of my bonnet is rubbing on the plastic cowl above the radiator. In places the plastic is fretting away and the mating point of the bonnet has rubbed through the paint.

From the outside the bonnet profile looks low relative to the wing points.

I have tried to turn the adjustable bonnet stops anticlockwise, but they appear to just spin and spin without moving any further out.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine rubs too but not ever been something I'm worried about. I'd rather it didn't, but not at the top of my list!

Subscribed now... let's see what happens!

My bonnet rubs on the top of the air filter box, been meaning to sort it for ages but never got around to it. Subscribed if anybody can shed some light?

The bonnet stops are not threaded there just ribs, you need to turn the hex 1/4 turn to unlock then lift the stop and relock in your new position.

I was thinking about putting some of these on the bonnet, that way you don't actually see them in the engine bay

Only thing is I'd be worried about the heat, them loosing their tack and then sitting somewhere on the engine where they promptly melt... lol

my bonnet stops are threaded there like a screw threaded rubber

These ones are the prefacelft, they aren't threaded as they appear to be. Instead the hexagonal base is a lock and turns (with difficulty) anti clockwise to loosen then the 'screw' but pushes down or pulls up to get the desired height, then tighten the base again.
