Bonnet release

Battery is flat, cable has released with bonnet, but I cannot move the lever upwards (under bonnet) to fully disengage the catch fully... Is this a anti-theft feature or is something mechanically wrong?
 
Cable/mech has probably seized, common issue.

Why don't you connect using the battery in the boot?

Mine sometimes does this... & my solution was

1. Press bonnet back down reasonably hard to fully re-engage lock by the badge

2. Give a strong firm pull of bonnet release lever.... remember firm but not violent... & that normally releases mine
 
Mine did this last week, i was stumped for a few mins as to how i was going to get the bonnet open and i did what Jembo has just suggested and it released itself :thumbsup:

I then applied a bit of 3-in-1 general purpose oil onto the catch and hopefully it will stay free.
