Bonnet pops but I can't open it

Ok not the usual issue where the bonnet release doesn't work, that part is fine and the bonnect pops up.

However I cannot seem to open it, the catch inside doesn't seem to move much so it doesn't release and allow me to open the bonnet.

Any ideas? Not sure if this is a common one, did a search but didn't find much other than the usual release issue.

Same here, a good jiggle of the bonnet should get it open, if not spray some WD40 in, and then greese it up once its opened.

Not sure here if the bonnet is being relleased by the main catch or not and or just being held on theh safely catch. If it's popping up then it sounds like the safety catch. Is the bonnet is up enough to reach the safety catch with your fingers? If so then it should just need extra firm press on the release lever, just to the right of centre and press upwards.

If it's the main catch try pressing down gently on the front edge of the bonnet while pulling the release lever.

If you need more access pop one of the grilles out and reach round to get the mechanism

I would not use WD40 as it's really a degreaser and water repellant. It will clean oil off the cable and hinge and in time dry out leaving it in a worst state. Few drops of oil or (ideally waterproof grease) on the various parts is way better.

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies.

I got a mate to look at it after the gym last night, he sprayed in some WD40 and got it open, then got the catch moving freely again. He said for me to get some grease for it and it should be fine.

The catch was definitley not moving much, must just need a re-grease.
