Hi All, I've just noticed that when I close my bonnet lid it's not closed flush at the right hand side when stood looking at the car from the front.

The bonnet lids seems perfectly secure and I've opened and closed it numerous times but to no avail....

Any ideas?

I’m not sure without checking but I think there should be some adjustable stops on either side of the bonnet

Push firmly on the r/h side of the bonnet & it will probably click shut, are you closing it by pressing on the middle? There’s a catch on either side

I'm sure I've tried both but will check again. Normally I shut from the middle but when I've gone to the RHS to push it down it still doesn't shut flush..... Will try again in the morning and see if that works

My E89 does exactly the same thing.
I've adjusted the stops several times but I've found that when it is adjusted to give good shut lines, it doesn't always latch properly.
Pushing on the right end doesn't seem to work, but I now simply drop it from a couple of inches higher and it locks down fine.

im no mechanic or anything... but are your latches rusty or covered in any gunk or something... might need to be cleaned or swapped, i know i've had to do this on a few of my cars and ended up spraying with wd40 then they seemed to work a bit better then put some lubricant on to keep it nice smooth, worse case scenario swapped them out if really bad.

its super unlikely but possibly have a look if the hook in there is bent or if the part on the bonnet is damaged as well as that could be causing it to sit odd. again that is super unlikely but i had this on my e46 m3 and i didnt figure it out and tried everything else... its just a 2 second peak in to the gap.

hope that helps :D

Had a look at mine tonight and I think the locking bar on the bonnet can also be adjusted as well as the stops on the front corners
