Bonnet Keeps Opening!

so i don't think my bonnet shuts correctly, no matter how hard you shut the bonnet it only ever locks into the first latch if that makes sense? then you have to put your hands on the bonnet and push it down shut. twice on saturday while on the motorway (Doing motorway Speeds) the bonnet popped up into the unlocked position meaning i had to pull into the hard shoulder to push it back down!

Blindly mate, that's not good.I have trouble shutting mine but once it's shut it stays shut. There are a couple of rubber adjusters on the slam panel try lowering them a little that might help.

Easy fix.

Firstly don't touch the side adjusters other than to ensure the bonnet is level with the wings when closed. In fact on later cars they are just spring loaded tensioners not solid adjusters.

With the bonnet open look at the underside and you'll see a loop that engages in the lock mechanism. To the left is a cross head screw locking a plastic rivet in. Remove that and you can pull the cover down and off. The loop can now be seen to be adjustable by screwing it in or out. Loosen it a couple of turn and retry the bonnet. Once OK refit the cover.

Also check the lock mechanism is correctly snapping shut on the loop. Lubricate with some thin oil (not WD40)
